Massage Therapy

Massage Therapy is often referred to as bodywork or somatic therapy.  Therapeutic massage has been described as "the healing touch".  Massage therapy refers to skilled touch, including any of a group of manual techniques such as effleurage, friction, vibration, percussion, petrissage, stretching, and compression.  These therapies are applied using primarily the hands, forearms, and elbows and these techniques affect the musculoskeletal, circulatory-lymphatic, and nervous systems of the body.

The goal of massage therapy is straightforward: to positively affect your health and well-being.  Numerous physical and mental health benefits have been attributed to massage including:

  • reducing stress

  • reducing heart rate

  • lowering blood pressure

  • increasing circulation and lymph flow

  • easing tight muscles

  • reducing chronic pain

  • improving joint range of motion

  • enhancing skin tone

  • strengthening the immune system

  • reducing headaches

  • improving concentration

  • improving self-esteem & body image

  • and many more!

Our licensed massage therapist will do her best to provide a healing massage experience performed with skill, respect, and the highest regard for your body.
